New figures from NHS Wales show that in September, just 78.1% of patients attending Major A&E departments were seen within four hours – compared to 80% for August and 16.9% below the Welsh Government’s self-set 95% target.

In North Wales, just 72% of A&E patients were seen within four hours at Wrexham Maelor Hospital and 69.7% at Ysbyty Glan Clwyd, with 919 waiting more than 12 hours at major North Wales A&E departments .

The Welsh Government’s constant inability to meet its own A&E targets has become a thing of routine for them.

As we enter the winter months, demands on A&E departments are only likely to increase and the Welsh Government Health Secretary needs to combat this downward spiral if he is serious about reducing risks to patient safety.

Visiting Cwfn Mawr, I attended the first Sustain Wales event in North East Wales, with presentations by Sustain Wales/Cynnal Cymru, the UK Business Council for Sustainable Development and Plas Kynaston Canal Group, followed by discussion on how to turn a disadvantaged post-industrial community into a Sustainable Tourism Development Centre at the heart of the Pontcysyllte World Heritage Site.

It was a pleasure to both visit  the brilliant new offices of telephone answering service provider 'Moneypenny’' at Wrexham’s Western Gateway, and to attend Glyndwr University’s Graduation Ceremony for Art and Design, Communications Technology; Humanities and Sport Science.

I was interviewed by BBC Wales on why an Autism (Wales) Act is needed by the Autism community in Wales, and attended an excellent performance of “Pilgrims” at Theatr Clwyd.

Welcome new GDP figures showing that Britain’s economy grew by 0.5% in the third quarter of 2016 show that our economy is resilient and that the fundamentals of our economy are strong. Welsh Conservatives are working closely with the UK Government as it moves into a period of negotiations with the EU to ensure that Welsh households and businesses get the very best deal.

With new figures showing that Welsh adults in full-time work earn on average £46.30 less a week than the UK average, ranking second lowest amongst the 12 UK nations and regions,  the Labour Welsh Government must use all the devolved levers available to it to support the economy and cultivate greater business and consumer confidence.
